Blue Stone
was born out of an ongoing collaboration between our four directors, who between them have around 75 years IT experience
in one form or another, either in or alongside manufacturing, distribution and service industry companies; systems houses; hardware and software suppliers;
IS or business consultancy organisations. Given the obvious synergies, they joined forces to create an intellectual powerhouse, where the whole was greater than the sum of its parts. Their combined skill base, supported by
Blue Stone’s
highly integrated team of like-minded professionals, represents a powerful organisation able to offer high quality services covering many facets of business and information technology consultancy demanded by modern business. The resumés of our directors are as follows:

Paul Lovett
Paul is responsible for the sales & marketing activity of the company and should be your first point of contact if you are considering using Blue Stone’s services. As well as involvement with our existing client base, Paul's team is responsible for new business and for developing relationships with the major accounting and legal practices who work with Blue Stone to meet their clients’ business objectives.
Paul has spent his entire working life in IT, from Account Manager for Burroughs (later Unisys) after graduation, and progressing through increasingly senior sales management roles, culminating as Sales Director for AT&T Istel. This was followed by a number of years during which he was helping organisations re-engineer their business processes and build robust IT strategies for the future.
Over his career, Paul has built up strong relationships with many blue-chip clients,
a number of whom have joined Blue Stone’s ever-growing client base. Leveraging the benefits and achievements
enjoyed by one client for others has been the cornerstone of our success, and Paul has a comprehensive range
of reference sites and case studies that he would be happy to share with you.

Paul Bridges
Paul is responsible for the management & development of the consultancy team. Over the life of the company, our clients’ needs have grown and become more diverse, and it therefore his job to ensure that we have the resources and ‘brainware’ to deliver what is needed. Paul is therefore the person to talk to if you are interested in working with Blue Stone.
Paul’s early career was in production management with Smiths Industries, a blue-chip technology company. During this period, as well as gaining experience in production and inventory management, he was also involved in the implementation of a large information system. With this experience he moved into management consultancy with P-E Inbucon, one of the UK’s leading independent consulting firms. In 1990 he joined the RTZ corporation as a business systems manager. When Caradon took over RTZ’s industrial interests in 1994, he helped that Group manage its Total Quality programme before becoming Director of Business Re-engineering for one of Caradon’s major divisions.
Since then he has specialised in IS strategy, process redesign, system selection and project management, all of which he has carried over into Blue Stone.

Steve Bellfield
Steve is responsible for all financial aspects of the business, as well as being a key leader in the consultancy team. He specialises in ‘seeing the wood for the trees’, bringing clarity to complex situations and recognising that handling the people issues in any large project is at least as important as tackling the technology challenges.
He began his career at GEC-Avery, and progressed though demanding IT roles with Johnson Matthey and McDonnell Douglas Information Systems. His deep understanding therefore comes from having been a user, business analyst, IT manager and business consultant, and from his detailed experience across the manufacturing, distribution and service sectors — especially rental.
Steve is an invaluable resource to help plan any business strategy, acquisition, commercial negotiation or implementation project. Or, if you have a ‘problem’ project, Steve’s troubleshooting skills and experience can be brought to bear in turning it around and getting it back on track.

Ross Southam-Walker
Ross is responsible for negotiating and finalising contracts for all our clients. He is a qualified solicitor who began in private practice in London in the mid-1970s, and this early career provided him with a solid framework in dealing with commercial disputes. In the late 1980s Ross joined Eversheds to broaden his legal experience still further, and subsequently went on to become a partner and Head of Commercial Litigation with Davies & Partners in Birmingham.
In 1998 he moved out of private practice, since when he has assisted many blue-chip clients with contractual and commercial negotiations leading to advantageous legal agreements coupled with attractive commercial terms. Ross has also regularly undertaken contract reviews and assisted with complex IT disputes where he has acted as the ‘interface’ between lawyers and the experts instructed.
Ross has therefore amassed a huge depth of knowledge and expertise covering the legal aspects of Information Systems projects, over many years. This, coupled with his thorough understanding of the consultant’s role in respect of the client’s needs, and of the supplier marketplace, further strengthens Blue Stone’s ability to deliver a service that is second-to-none.
